07/13/26 -Summer has a funny way of making us forget why we were excited for it in the first place.

Somewhere between the swimsuits, vacations, pool parties, and family photos, many of us stop living the moment and start evaluating ourselves instead.

I've seen it so many times in clinic.

Women tell me they're avoiding the beach, skipping pictures with their kids, or saying "maybe next year" because they don't feel comfortable in their bodies.

But here's what I want you to hear:

Your body was never meant to be a barrier to your life.

Yes, it's okay to have health goals. It's okay to want to feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

But don't wait to enjoy your life until you think you've earned it.

From a Chinese Medicine perspective, summer is connected to the Fire element—our season of joy, connection, and expression. It's meant to draw us outward into experiences and relationships. Yet it's also when comparison becomes the loudest, especially when social media convinces us everyone else is happier, leaner, or living a more "perfect" summer.

That constant comparison doesn't just affect your confidence—it creates stress. And chronic stress influences your hormones, sleep, inflammation, digestion, and the way your body functions.

Your health journey should come from a place of caring for yourself, not constantly criticizing yourself.

So this summer, I want to leave you with one question:

How much of your life are you missing because you're worried about how you look while you're living it?

You deserve to make memories, laugh in the photos, jump in the pool, and be fully present—exactly where you are today.

What's one thing you've missed, avoided, or worried about because of how you felt about your body?

And if you're ready to better understand the relationship between stress, inflammation, food, hormones, and how you feel in your body, explore our Food Fit Assessment or schedule a consultation with AcYou Health.
